From Matt: How do you know it is time to apply for the fittest loser competition? Is it when you bend the seat of a folding chair like a beer can or when the flight attendant stares you downas she asks for a volunteer to move to the front of the plane so that we can take off? Why not just say, will the fat guy please move to the front for take off?
Well when I saw the article in the Daily Herald I knew I needed to apply. I never thought I would be chosen. When I read the email that said congratulations you have been chosen to compete, I could not believe it. I was so thankful to be given this opportunity to change my life.
You know your in trouble when they have to use a counterweight because you max out the scale. My initial weight was 372 lbs. I knew how I got there and am looking forward to learning everything there is about nutrition and fittness. My trainer, Mark has his work cut out for him. I’m still trying to figure out how he is not laughing as I am doing squats. If I was not in so much pain, I would be laughing, it’s not a pretty site.
I promise I am going to take full advantage of this once in a lifetime opportunity. I really want to thank The Daily Herald, Dick Ponds, YMCA, Jewel Food Stores, Push Fitness, my supportive wife, family and friends and, of course, Mark ,my trainer.
